When Dylan (Justin Timberlake) has his girlfriend break up with her and Jamie (Mila Kunis) has her relationship end, they meet up and decide that sex will be their thing and no need for the relationship aspect of it all. In an age of romantic comedies, Dylan and Jamie find out that just because you don’t want to have drama in your love life.
THE REVIEW:
Think “No Strings Attached” but nastier. That is what the movie was basically like for me. I am not saying that the movie wasn’t good because I did laugh during it and I was thinking the entire time that it is nice to see the skin of Mila Kunis. After seeing her in “Black Swan”, I was thinking that there was a nastier side to her and that she can play a role that was more sexual. However, one major flaw in this movie for me was the entire dialog with Justin Timberlake’s character’s father. Sure, he is supposed to be losing his mind, but it was just too uncomfortable for me. It was good to see the comedy that the two share and you do laugh in it. On a date night, it is fun to go see because you are going to laugh and not have to suffer through some boring movie.
The movie lacked something for me that I thought was too much. I liked the chemistry that the two had, but it seemed like they had too quick of a response to their insults. However, I did love the jokes about the Scientology bit and other Brand crushing. It is always clear that they are going to have something more, but it is hilarious to see how they get along and want it to be strictly sex. This movie, I would say isn’t one that you HAVE to see in the theaters, but it is fun when you are on a date. Of course you are going to laugh, it is just the orgasms were a little uncomfortable to watch.
OVERALL RATING:
The movie is one of those films where you are going to laugh, but for all the wrong reasons. In some ways, you feel a little dirty having watched the movie, but you laugh through it and you just don’t care. You have to go see it to believe it, but only if you have nothing better to do with your time. Not that great, but watchable.
